The Ornamental Cast Iron Museum Büdelsdorf presents old iron and the moving history associated with it in an impressive manner. Whether statues of persons, coal boxes or coffee grinders - a total of some 180 exhibits are displayed there.
The museum shows cast iron and ornamental casting as well as the cultural-historical significance the material had during the 19th century. It is one of just a few establishments throughout Germany which have specialised in this fascinating topic and was founded by Käte Ahlmann, one of the most renowned female entrepreneurs in the 20th century.
